Is Thrombophlebitis Possible After Sustaining A Leg Injury 20years Back?

20 years ago I was kicked in the back of my left and inner thigh by a cow. About a year later I developed phlebitis and had a vein stripping done. Right now I am having pain in my left leg and went for an ultra sound and am going to have an ablation procedure done on both legs. Vehicles veins do not run in my mom or siblings. Is it possible the trauma triggered this? I also drove a recycle truck for 7 years from the right side standing picking up recycle all day.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is unlikely to be related to old injury.
You can opt for a vascular Doppler to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
