Is Tingling On The Penis Normal Post Intake Of Amoxicillin?

Hi, my penis and body was itchy most of the time for about a month and a half now. I have had a rash on the penile head which lasted two days and another on the penile shaft which lasted about two days also. I saw a doctor two days ago and I was given some meds, amoxylin and suddenly my penis and body don t itch any more, I just feel a tingle on my penis once a day which lasts about 5 seconds but that s only it. Does this mean the pills are working or they are just suppressing the virus or bacteria for now. The meds prescribed to me finish in three days.

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Amoxycillin can cause yeast infection on genital area. Applying anti fungal agents like miconazole will be helpful for this. You can also take probiotics. Taking yogurt or kefir is also good. B vitamin deficiencies also can cause this after antibiotic therapy. So taking b complex vitamin supplements also should be considered.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
