Is Tingling Sensation In The Left Leg Normal After L1 Fracture?

Daughter had an L1 fracture with a back brace prescribed. Happened on 25 December 16. Two follow up visits with things healing fine. She has started complaining about her left leg tingling now. Mobility and strength equal on both legs and feet. Normal?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your question.

Tingling is a usual symptom of L1 fracture because of the compression of the nerve that might have resulted. As long as muscle tone and strength are equal in both limbs and the back pain is subsiding, there is nothing to worry about.

You could also get her drugs which help nerve regeneration such as neurobion.

I hope i have answered your question.

Warm regards.
