Is Total Bilirubin Count Of 2.8 A Matter Of Concern?
It jus checked for hbsag, and I was tested positive, total protein is 8.8g/dl,ALP is 112U/I,Albumin is 4.8g/dL,Total bilirubin is 2.8mg/dl,direct bilirubin is 1.7mg/dl.Liver scan shows liver is in normal condition..should I be worried?what should I do?
You must get checked for igm and igG of anti hbc antibodies and igm and igG type of anti HBE antibodies. That will decide acute or chronic infection and infective and non infection stage.
Again if acute , only supportive treatment will be going on. while chronic infection will require anti viral therapy. Billirubin levels in appropriate clinical setting and values of Ast and Alt will be deciding factor for antiviral drugs.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
