Is Transmission Of Chlamydia Infection Possible Through Oral Sex?

I was exposed to Chlamydia. I took a 1000 mg tablets Zithromax last week on Monday. On Friday had protected sex (condom) with girl friend. She did perform oral without condom. Is it possible that she was given / exposed to it. Or is it still contagious 4 days after Zithromax. I know they say 7 days before sex. But is it still contagious after 4 days for oral sex. ?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of chlamydia infection, my treatment advice is -

1. Oral sex can transmit the infection.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like Azithromycin and Doxycycline taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
