Is Transmission Of Hepatitis C Possible Through Contact With Blood?
What are the chances of a drug addict contracting HEP C from a drop of blood on a spoon that was then only rinsed with water and then drugs put in spoon and injected with needle? And what is the soonest you would have symptoms (although I am aware some people never have any)?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello,
Please note that rinsing with water must have decreased the risk to negligible levels, even though the risk is not absolutely zero. In what time, the person will develop hepatitis is dependent upon the viral dosage.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
