Is Traveling To A High Altitude Safe During Pregnancy?

Am 18th week pregnant and planing to spend 2 days of my vacations in gulmerg..(Jammu n Kashmir,India)..it s altitude is 10870 my above sea level..it s snow all around..is it safe at tis point of time..I would b taking trolley to ve a view of entire valley..kindly suggest precautions to b taken ..with regards..-dr.jasleen

Hi,

It just seems a bad idea. Cannot say in your particular case, but generally, high altitude puts oxygen stress on the person due to thin air and this is much worse on the fetus.
