Is Treatment For Arthritis Advisable Before An Ankle Fusion Surgery?

I have severe orthoarthritis of the ankle. I am seeing a Orthopedic Surgeon and we are currently using cortisone shots. I am told my options are to have ankle fusion or ankle replacement, because of my age ankle fusion is the best option. Do you think that before surgery I should go to a Doctor that specializes in treating Arthritis?

hello,
I would suggest you to go to a physician rather going to surgeon and get physician opinion on your current condition.
