Is Triple Bypass Surgery Risky For An Obese Heart Patient, Recovering From Pneumonia?

Our Father In Law is 80, he is recovering from pneumonia. He will be going into surgery Wednesday for a Triple Bypass. He has suffered a Heart Attack this past weekend. He also has COPD. He is very obese, he smoked for years, his lungs are in very poor shape. What are his major risks in surgery.

yes his surgery is definitely risky. he is old with compromised state of lungs which can complicate the surgery as it is done in general anesthesia.
