Is Twitching Sensation Normal While Checking Neck Pulse?

When I was checking my neck pulse earlier today I noticed a twitch like sensation and checked the other side and same thing, I placed my fingers on my Adams apple and it moves side to side with a small pop.. Is this normal?? I am a smoker I smoke camel menthol cigarettes at a pack a day for about 3 and a 1/2 years now and I am 19 goin on 20.
