Is Undergoing Angioplasty, After A Month Of Implanting A Pacemaker, Considered Safe?

My mother is 78 years old. Last month she has been implanted with a Pacemaker. Now Cardiologist advised that she also need to undergo Angioplasty as out of her three veins, 1 vein is 90% blocked. However other two are 30% and 70% respectively. Please advice if it is safe to undergo such surgery at this age ?

Hi,

Angioplasty is a relatively safe procedure, it is not done through open surgery but through a catheter, generally there isn't any need for general anesthesia so much less risk of complications from anesthesia or infections which are feared from surgical procedures. So, I would do it in order to avoid the risk of heart attack.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
