Is Unprotected Sex Safe On The First Day Of Taking Microgynon 30?

Hello, I finished my period 4 days ago and had sex using a condom last night. Its been a year since I stopped using the pill, I want to go back on the pill now and have been given Microgynon 30. If I start using the pill right away would I be safe to have unprotected sex or should I wait to have it on the first day of my period? Also can I start having unprotected sex as soon as I start using the pill?
