General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Vaginal discharge or spotting is expected over the next few hours after the procedure of HSG. It is also normal to experience light vaginal bleeding for 1-2 days. However, in a very few cases, the light bleeding may continue for a couple of days, may be up to 4-5 days.

However, heavy bleeding is not common after the procedure of HSG. Therefore, if the bleeding is heavy or the spotting is continuing even after 5 days, it is an indication that you see your doctor for proper evaluation & treatment accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
