Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doctor, I had a severe asthmatic attack 2 days back all tests,ECG are normal. B12 level is 243. The doctor has prescribed vitcofol injections on 3 alternate days. I have fatty liver , had thyroid problem earlier, urine infection, heartburn. Can Vitcofol have adverse effects on these problems? Can I take capsules or tablets instead of Vitcofol as my b12 is 243(not deficient) I would be grateful if you could kindly suggest tablets/capsules eg Becosule Thanks .Regards
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Vitamin B12 level of 243 is fine. You can take multivitamin capsules to replenish and maintain B12 along with other vitamin levels. But, since you have fatty changes in liver, it would be advisable for you to go for injection. This will help to replenish the tissue levels and attain saturation quickly, as the absorption and distribution is better when compared with its intake through oral route. Kindly take the dosage of medication as advised in the form of injection. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
