Is Vomiting A Symptom Of Esophageal Cancer?

last night I vomited for apparently no reason other than post nasal drip (?) I have had a lot of heart burn, and take Tums on a regular basis. What scared me was that I had projectile like vomiting suddenly and it was dark purple, a lot of it, and then it turned light colored and clearish. I had not eaten any purple foods other than a few (10 at the most) blueberries about 15 hours earlier. I am afraid it might be esophageal cancer.

Hi,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com.

I had gone through your question I can understand your concern about your gastric upset and vomiting.

As per your signs and symptoms it seems that you may be having gastritis, and vomiting can also be because of post nasal drip too.

Heart burn can lead to vomiting by stimulating the vagus nerve, you need to avoid spicy, oil and junk foods for some time.

Take an pantoprazole 40 mg tablet empty stomach early in morning before half an hour breakfast to reduce The stomach acidity and heart burn.

No, there is no chance of esophageal cancer, it mostly presents as gag by blocking the food to enter the stomach.

Hope my answer will help you and visit us back if you have any further queries.

Regards
