Is Walking Possible After Intertrochanteric Hip Fracture Surgery?

Hi, my mother-in-law is 48 years old. Her right leg is paralysed by polio. She has diabetes mellitus. Recently she met with an accident. She sustained a intertrochanteric hip fracture and was operated with DHS. She is asked to rest for 40 days and asked to come on December 8 for the medical test. Is it possible that she can walk normally as she was walking previously? Please kindly answer my query.
