Hello,

Doctors usually advise strenuous activities after the stitches because our body takes time to heal. Here the wound is near the knee joint and there are stitches given. If she walks then due to pressure created by movements during walking the stitches might break open and there are chances of bleeding from the site and this will again increase the time of healing and adding up more pain.

So doctors advice taking rest and avoid strenuous activities and walking to avoid further damage to the injured site when it's on the thigh. It's better to take rest as advised so that the wound will heal fast and keep it clean as guided by your doctor to avoid infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
