Is White Film On Tonsil Is Sign Of Improvement Or Infection?

my tonsils are extremely swollen from what was diagnosed as mono. The doctor told me that he suspected a bacterial infection on top of the mono causing the tonsillitis so he prescribed me avelox (started Monday) and I have seen no improvement. My tonsils are covered in a white film, some of which is starting to come off (some is partly attached and hanging). Part of the white stuff came up and attached to it was some nasty red and black stuff. Is this normal?

No it's not normal.. it seems that you have been infected with Candida species..hence your not responding to this..white patch with red buds typical of oral thrus
