Isn't It Easy To Differentiate Between Retroperitoneal Mass And Piece Of Colon?

I had a diagonstic laproscopy done by my OBGYN a few weeks ago, she took pictures and reported a retroperitoneal mass and evidence of a paraoviarian cyst. She referred me to general surgeon.. had CT and MRI done both reporting a cystic structure..referred to a vascular spec for 2nd structure.. he looked at picutre and said it was a piece of colon. Is it easy to confuse a retroperitoneal mass with a piece of colon?
