Itchiness Around Inner Lips Of Vagina. Taken Pill After Sex. Side Effect Of Pill Or Infection?

Hello, i took plan b after having sex, at first he wore a condom, but then he took if off, and he came shortly after. he didnt come in me but i didnt want to take the risk so i took plan b. That was two days ago, now i am experiencing itchiness around the inner lips of my vagina. I am not sure if it is a side effect of the pill or if it is an infection

Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

You have done the right thing in taking emergency plan b.

The itching around your vagina is most likely due to infection if it has appeared two days later and was not present earlier. Please wash your genital area with warm water at least twice daily and keep it dry. You may wait a for a week to see if symptoms persist or increase in discomfort is noted. If yes, then consult your doctor and get yourself examined. You might also be required to get certain tests done and take necessary treatment.

Significant vaginal itching never happens due to taking pill.
