Itching And Burning Sensation On The Rib Cage. Reason?
I have a weird itching on the left rib cage kind of right under my arm . It doesn t hurt, if anything, it s a slight burning but not even anything that s too uncomfortable. The itching and slight burning is coming from either under my skin or behind my rib cage. It sometimes feels like i need to reach underneath my ribs to scratch something that s inside of my body. Thank you for for help.
In addition have you suffered from respiratory infection in the recent past? Do you also have fever in addition.
In case the answer to both /any is positive ,it could be a case of initial case of or starting point of Shingles/Herpes Zoster also.In another instance it could be a c/o Sun burns /Prickly Heat/PhotoDermatitis.
Please use a soothening cream such as Calamine and
Consult a Dermatologist who will prescribe (if he suspects Herpes Zoster ,then only )Anti-Viral Antibiotics of Acyclovir group and Ointments of similar composition in addition to anti-inflammatory medications.
Wishing you a speedy recovery,
Best Regards,
Dr Lt Cdr ASN Bhushan.
