Itching In Body Controlled With Allegra, Weight Loss. On Metformin For Maintaining Sugar Level. Any Other Problem?

yes, Hello
I take metformin for sugar level maintaince. My blood sugar is never over 110. That is when eating sugary food. I have begun to itch in certain places on my body. I am controlling it with allegra. Is the med causing the itch problem? I donot think i need the med. Or is there an underlying problem with my body. I am loosing weight gradually over a two year period. 225-188. No i am not on a diet.

If your blood sugar is never over 110 even after eating sugary food.then I think your diabetes can be controlled by diet itself medicine is not required.
metformin can cause allergic reactions in some people.symptoms of an allergic reaction may include skin rash, itching or hives; swelling of the face, lips or tongue,wheezing or shortness of breath.
Apart from this check if your soap or cream is causing allergy to your skin.keep your body moisturised.
You must consult your doctor about this medicine.
