Itching In Region Around Public Area, Wearing Tight Pants. What Could Be This?
I think I have something similar to thrush, but don't know what I am a woman and where my pubic hair grows is really itchy and has been for two weeks. It doesn't seem to be thrush as there is no discharge and it is not my actual labia that is itchy... I have been wearing tight pants a lot recently and someone said it might be that? Please help? I'm pretty sure it isn't an STD as I haven't had any form of sexual contact with someone else before...
Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.
From what you are describing, you have itchiness on the hair-bearing areas of the genital region but without any outward signs of a yeast infection. You do not have a vaginal discharge. It is very common to get yeast affecting the skin in the area that you are describing. This can be separate from a vaginal yeast infection (with a discharge). Given the symptoms and 'tight pants', a vulvar yeast infection is the most likely cause. The best way to treat this would be to talk with your doctor about a pill called diflucan. Also, wear looser fitting clothes made of cotton.
I hope that this helps and good luck!
