I've Had Sharp, Severe Neck Pain For 18 Months. Mostly

I've had sharp, severe neck pain for 18 months. Mostly on my left side. My left side gets really weak at times with some numbness and achy pain. I got an MRI and it shows I have a reversal of the normal cervical lordoses, and concludes, "Predominately mild degenerative disc and facet disease with mild foraminal stenoses at C4-5 and C6-7". No recent accident or surgeries. I was training MMA, Jiu-jitsu, oxing and weight training for a few years pretty hardcore, with no previous athletics. I was three months into a break from training when the pain first occured on December 1, 2014.
Would these findings explain my pain?
