Jaw Swelling Due To Wisdom Tooth. Dental X-ray Done. Surgery Prescribed. Cure?

Rasoli under the teeth suggests of a tumor which can be benign or( malignant) cancerous .
This requires a thorough clinical examination and investigations - x-ray and biopsy should be performed to rule out the type of growth .
Coming to the teeth it can be saved unless they are not involved completely ,if just decay is present , then can be treated by RCT or filling depending on the extent of decay .
See your dentist for the treatment.

if the swelling is associated with impacted tooth,visit your dentist and get the tooth removed.

if there is any overgrowth,surgical management is necessary.

take complete course of antibiotics-analgesics prescribed by your dentist.

Any tumour like growth or necrotic areas in the jaw is definitly not a good sign. Rasoli is nothing but tumour growth and if this is associated with the teeth it has to removed surgerically. Biopsy of the tissue will confirm whether the growth is bening or malignant that is cancerous.
Bening tumour are excised successfully and if the teeth are not involved they can be saved by root canal procedures, but if the teeth are involved it is better to get them extracted along the tumour mass.
Malignant tumours are higly risky as they may progress to adjacent vital structures ,neck spaces and lymph nodes so i suggest you to approach an Oral Surgeon and get the examination done as soon as possible.
OPG radiograph will help ruling out the extent of tumour and its involvement.
Routine blood profile and blood sugar tests may be needed.

first of all to make any definitive diagnosis is quite difficult without x-ray report and if this is some cyst type thing than either biopsy or FNAC is mandatory.
but there are some common problems at angle of jaw like:
dentigerous cyst
OKC
ameloblastoma
periapical cyst etc.
so please visit your dentist & go for treatment as soon as possible.

I would suggest you to go for proper clinical & radiographic examination of teeth.
Its important to know whether teeth is erupted or impacted,
Swelling indicates there is some abscess formation beneath associated tooth & to rule out whether its tumour, you need to go for biopsy.
You need to get your third molar removed but before that consult your dentist.

impacted third molar (partially or completely erupted) leads to infection called PERI CORONITIS.

as there is inadequate space in the jaw for the tooth to erupt, it takes alternate path way. while sometimes remain embedded or impacted in the jaw.

on viewing the x ray it becomes absolutely clear whether the tooth is placed vertically, horizontally mesially, distally, lingually or angulated.

that is the time when the dentist has to decide how to go about its extraction. so that with minimal bone damage and minimal trauma to tissues. tooth can be surgically removed.

this procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia. after that to prevent any further infection anti biotic and analsegic coverage is given.

i have explained you the complete procedure regarding the extraction of your wisdom tooth.

in my view i would say get the tooth extracted as it is of no value either functionally or esthetically.

you can also go for second opinion if you want

regarding tooth no 6 & 7 think twice before getting it removed, because they are fuctionally and esthetically required.

swelling is a result of a wisdom tooth infection.
first step in treating wisdom teeth swelling is to properly diagnose the case and to determine what exactly caused the swelling.
If the tooth has been affected badly by caries, root canal procedure may be an option. If the tooth is beyond salvation, it will need to be extracted.
In case the tooth has not erupted yet but the surrounding tissue is swelling, there is probably a cyst on it.
Impacted wisdom teeth often cause swelling and pain, sometimes infections too.
Non-steroidal medications will decrease inflammation: aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen.
Cold compress will decrease inflammation

i can suggest anything only after seeing the x-ray, but if the lesion is there then surgery is the cure for that.
