Jumped From Cliff Into The Water, Feeling Dizzy, Ear Pain, Hearing Affected. Should I See A Doctor?

i went cliff jumping today and went off the 20 ft. cliff. i hit the water and came up feeling very dizzy and not myself. as the day went on, ear pain got worse and worse until i was in tears asking my mom if we should go to the hospital. the pain is less severe now after taking meds, but they feel full, my hearing is not what it was, and i feel a little dizzy or high , somewhat delusional. i dont know what i should do.

You developed Barotrauma which means pressure build up in the ear due to suden atmospheric pressure changes.your eustachian tube was not got blocked up due to this ,negative pressure in the middle ear devlpd and causes the pain and the dizziness. You may take Tab .cetrizine for a few days at night, otrivin nasal drops twice daily in the nose to be follwed by steam inhalation.you can use chewing gum frequently...helps to pen up the E.tube.

Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Dr. Praveen Tayal's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Due to the cliff jumping, it seems that you have suffered an injury to your inner ear causing fullness and pain along with dizziness. You need to consult an ENT specialist to evaluate the extent of damage you have suffered and proper management.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
Regards,
