ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, taking a rubber band treatment for keloids is not advisable as the resultant scar tissue is not good and chances of reformation of keloid is very much there. What that rubber band causes is, it cuts off the blood supply to the keloid and it can shrink or fall of in due course of time. Cutting the blood supply off leads to necrosis of tissue and this can lead to passage of cheesy material from it. Also otherwise, there is cheesy material in side the keloid which comes out of skin whenever forceful pressure is applied over it. So, please consult an ENT and get proper treatment. regards
