Kelp Capsules Should Be Continued If Having Neck Pain And Joint Stiffness?

Hi, I have hypothyroid since past 2 years and i came to know about it when i went for Antibody test before conceiving which came positive. After delievery I again went for check up and now i take 75 MG daily thyronorme.
I recently started taking 1 pill of kelp capsules and have been taking it for last 7 days as i want my glad to get the raw material to make enough iodine needed for body and eventually be on it and stop the thyronorme medecine. I am having neck pain and joint stiffness ..should i continue or stop kelp?

Hi,
If your antibodies are positive you are having hashimoto's hypothyroidism, a condition in which your thyroid gland is damaged by antibodies. Thyroid hormone replacement is the safe, cheap and effective treatment for this. The need for iodine is less in hashimoto's as your thyroid is no longer producing thyroxine. So no need of excess Iodine or in-fact any dietary modifications are needed for this.

If you are having iodine deficiency hypothyroidism, these supplements may help (Which is not your case)
