Kikuchi's Disease, Taking Prednisolone, Have Fever, Night Sweats, Headaches, Pain In Spleen, Enlarged Lymph Nodes. Treatment?

Hi, I am 15 years old and i have currently been diagnosed with KFD (Kikuchi s disease) Since the diagnosis, i have been taking 50mg of prenisolone for two weeks but unfortunatly my lymphnodes are continuing to enlarge and classic symptoms such as fevers, night sweats , head aches and pain in my spleen is still occuring. I would like to know, what are other treatments that can be made for this specific disease?

Kikuchi disease, this disease is typically seen in Japan I presume you are in that geographical location although isolated cases are reported in America, Europe and Asia.

Its diagnosis is important as differential include Tuberculosis and Lymphoma.
It must be confirmed by excision biopsy.

No specific cure. Treatment largely supportive. Analgesic and anti inflammatory drugs are used for symptomatic relief.

more severe, with multiple flares of bulky cervical lymphadenopathy and fever, then Corticosteroid are used and known to give result .

Severe disease there are reports of use of with intravenous immunoglobulin successfully please discuss with treating physician and near by Tertiary healthcare centre.
