Kissed On Cheek Of MRSA Patient. Chances Of Catching It ?

If I visited at 99 yr old family member in the hospital and gave them a kiss on the cheek and later found out they had MRSA in their nose should I be tested for it? If you are just in the room is there a chance of catching it?
I have 3 children 12, 9 and 7 and do not want them exposed if there is a change I could now have it.
I was not aware of the infection until after my vist.

Hello,
Thanks for the query.

MRSA is not a very dangerous thing.

It is a simple staph infection but is resistant to many antibiotics.

Please dont get worried,

It wont spread with air.

Best thing is to take a course of the same antibiotic the old person is taking.

As for now no test is required.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

you can ask a direct question to me on this forum, following the below link.
