Hi Ghurji,

Thanks for posting your query.

Your total Cholesterol is high, normal is less than 200.

LDL is also high, normal is 100.

Triglycerides are also high at 141.

The ratios are altered.

The values are definitely not ok.

The first step in reducing this is dietary modifications and physical exercise. Repeat the lipid profile after 6 months and if the values remain the same, then you may have to be put on cholesterol lowering drugs.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Your Cholesterol and LDL cholesterol are borderline high. These cholesterol fall in the category of bad cholesterol as they increase the risk of heart disease and many other conditions. Since they are in the borderline range, you have to go for life style modifications like avoiding butter, ghee, cream, cheese, fatty food, oily and fried stuff, white flour(Maida), red meat etc. You shoud stop smoking if you are a smoker, take alcohol in moderation preferrably red wine, eat plenty of fruits and vegetables esp with varigated colours, take nuts like almond and walnuts and walk 4 to 5 kms daily.Pl loose weight if you are overweight. Have a repeat test after 3 months and if these results are still high, consult your physician for a short course of statins.
