Lack Of Sleep, Feel Freezing In The Morning. Taking Vitamin D Of No Help. Perimenopause? Symptoms Of What? Prevention?

Lately I'm really lack of sleep, I haven't get any sleep at night for over 3 weeks. Also at night my back was burned up so it make very difficult to sleep. However, in the morning I always feel cold and freezing. I did a lot of tests and doctor advice due to lack of vitamin D. I'm still taking vitamin D but the symptoms come back. I'm 37 years old, could this be perimenopause? Doctor done all test say my hormone is normal and no sigh of thyroid. Could you please advise what these symptoms could be and how to prevent? Also I eat regularly and exercise daily.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome to HCM

You are 37 year old and has all tests normal and having sleep problems. In perimenopausal age some times sleep dysfunction may occur but not to such extent. It may be occurring due to primary insomnia or due to some form of anxiety.
Primary insomnia may occur due to improper sleep hygiene. I would advise you to improve your sleep hygiene.
Try to fix your time to go to bed.
Don't use bed for reading or watching and use it for sleeping only.
Don't take carbonated drinks, alcohol, coffee or tea in evening.
Avoid heavy work in evening.
Try to do relaxation exercises.
Don't think about not getting enough sleep again and if you are not able to get sleep in bed for 5-10 minutes then get up from bed and try to divert your attention.

If no improvement occur with these measures then visit a Psychiatrist for opinion.

Thanks
