Large Boil On Back, Itching And Paining. Consulted Dermatologist. Diabetic For 25 Years. Recommendations?

I am a diabetic for the last 25 years. Currently, I have a skin problem in which a large boil has form on my back. My daughter open it up. I show it to a dermotogist four days ago. He said I have to wait six weeks before he will take it off. I don't feel I should wait that long. It itches and sometimes pains me. I have been thinking of going to the emergency room tomorrow to have it lanced and drained. It is about the size of a mayonnaise jar cover. What do you think?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
This is a carbuncle or cellulitis .
May be non-healing diabetic ulcer.
In my opinion you should contact a surgeon at once and get treatment ( surgical ).
Please note down one thing regulate diabetes at any cost .
Since old diabetic patient become careless about their disease.
Good luck.
