Laryngitis With Ear Infection And Fever, Plugged And Painful Ears, Raspy Voice. No Help From Z Pac. Advice

I have had laryngitis, combined with a left ear infection also a fever of 99-100 since last Friday. I took a Z pac to hope solve the problem. It is Monday and my ear is still plugged but not hurting and still have a raspy voice. is it a viral infection? I do not have health insurance so I do not want to go to the doctor if I don't need to... but my voice after 4 days with the zpac ( out of date 2009) is not effective. your advice? Susan

THANKS FOR YOUR QUERY.

HISTORY SEEMS THAT EAR PROBLEMS COULD BE DUE TO ACUTE LARYNGITIS OR UPPER AIRWAY INFECTION.

FOR LARYNGITIS YOU NEED TO TAKE ANTI HISTAMINICS AND MUCOLYTICS.

MOST IMPORTANT : TAKE STRICT VOICE REST AND STEAM INHALATION.

AVOID SMOKING AND ALCOHOL, COLD AND JUNK FEEDS.

THANKS, TAKE CARE. BYE
