Light Brown Blood Discharge After Having Unprotected Sex. History Of Having Medical Abortion, Followed By Normal Periods. HPT Negative. Suggest
On july 5 I had a medical abortion which caused me to bleed for 1 to 2 weeks. August 14 I had my first regular period since the abortion which lasted 7 days. On August 26 and 27 me and my boyfriend unprotected sex. On sept 8 I started bleeeding brown blood which wasnt heavy. This was not normal for me if this was my period. I took 3 pregnancy test that were negative could I be pregnant.
Thanks for your question. After pregnancy, periods may take 2-3 cycles to return to normal. This is true even with medical abortion pregnancies. However, unprotected sex can always lead to pregnancy. Your unprotected sexual episode occurred during the fertile time if you had a normal menstrual period on August 14. Sperm are viable within the fallopian tubes for approximately 72 hours after ejaculation. The pregnancy tests are negative which is reassuring but may have been done too early to detect pregnancy. If a menstrual cycle has not occurred past September 14, repeat the pregnancy test or present to your doctor for a serum pregnancy test. I hope this answers your question. If you have further questions, I am available for consultation.
