Light Periods, Morning Sickness. Pregnancy Tests Negative, Ultrasound Shows Cysts. Pregnant?

Hi, my mother who is 48 had been having light periods for the past 5 month, she even had morning sickness her tummy is also growing but not as much as the time for light periods, she had done 2 pregnancy test at two different stage with 1 month gap in between but the test are negative, the ultrasound just showed some cysts and not a baby could she still be pregnant?

Hi,
Considering her age, she could be into peri-menopause and the light periods may be due to that. The declining hormonal state may create several symptoms. As pregnancy has been excluded, I suggest that you take her to a gynecologist for a thorough evaluation and proper guidance. A trans-vaginal sonogram will definitely localize any anomalies. the increasing tummy could be due to fat accumulation as often happens at this stage.Take care.
