Losartan For High Blood Pressure Causing Chest Pain. Will Taking Verapamil Reduce Heart Rate And Need To Take My Calcium?

I was prescribed Benicar for high blood pressure but was experiencing joint pain (was on for about 2 months). My dr changed medication to Losartan and returned after 2 weeks complaining of chest pain. So he prescribed Verapamil (which not sure if this is a good choice since I am taking calcium/magnesium for my bones and I read not to take calcium with this medication. I am still on the Losartan and am having chest discomfort today (some days I do not). Read that Verapamil is a calcium channel blocker and there are two types of calcium channel blockers (dihydropyridine and non-dihydropyridine, slows heart rate). I have appt. with my dr to follow up on 1/2/14. I have not started the Verapamil yet because not sure if this will slow my heart rate and also I need to take my calcium. Just wanted another opinion. Thanks.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
If you just go on reading about the medicine then you will definitely find something strange and scary thing so that you wont be able to take any medicine, in fact this is not your job the doctor better knows how to treat the patient, you have to have the faith in doctor, stop reading about the drugs, simply ask the doctor about how to get well soon, have nice day.
