Lost Consciousness After Head Knock, Swelling And Bump Formation, Have Headaches, Nausea, Stiff Neck. What Could Be Wrong?
I was playing rugby, and I had a head knock (don't think it was serious, I did not lose consciousness and was not dizzy after about 5-10 seconds), but I have a swelling and bump below and behind my ear, on the side that I was hit. What could this be, and what should I do? I do not have severe headaches, nausea, or a stiff neck.

Lost Consciousness After Head Knock, Swelling And Bump Formation, Have Headaches, Nausea, Stiff Neck. What Could Be Wrong?
Hi, Its common to have falls while playing. As you say, the fall was not serious and you did not lose consciousness. All that is worrying you is a lump behind your ear. The lump. as you have described it, is a soft tissue scalp swelling below the skin and nothing to worry. It will disappear in a week or so. If you had vomiting, blackout, visual disturbances or severe headaches (none of which yuou have mentioned), then you must see a doctor. Hope this helps. Dr Anjana Rao
