Low VitD3, Magnesium Deficiency. Can These Even Cause Auditory Hallucinations ?
Hello, i have a question I am taking invega but am finishing that I need more medication than before but I also have low vitamin d3 , zinc manganese, chromium and co q10 , plus magnesium deficiency , although these deficiencies are low and not severe. I am seeing a homeopath to bring the levels back up on these vitamins. Could these deficiencies even though they are low cause auditory hallucinations ? Also my gene site test showed that I metabolize drugs at a faster rate. I am starting to get older in now now so could this mean that the rate I metabolize drugs has speeded up?(Not in my fifties yet)Thanky you for your answer (alias) AAAAAA
General & Family Physician, Dr. Jay Patel's Response
Hi,
Based from the information you are wanting to know if low vita-d3 and magnesium can cause auditory hallucinations.
Schizophrenia may lead to auditory hallucinations. Schizophrenia and Depression - These disorders have been linked to vitamin D deficiency. In a study, it was discovered that maintaining sufficient vitamin D among pregnant women and during childhood was necessary to satisfy the vitamin D receptor in the brain integral for brain development and mental function maintenance in later life.
Now about metabolism rate - The rate of metabolism tends to decrease as person grows older. There are no studies that shows it increases as you grow older.
Hope it helps. Dr.JAY PATEL
