Low Fever, Clogged Ear, Sore Throat, White Patches On Tonsil, Post Nasal Drainage In Throat. On Medicines. Healing Time?
I have a low grade fever with a clogged ear and sore throat with white patches on the tonsil as well as a couple of blister like sores in the back of my throat. I also seem to have a lot of mucus and post nasal drainage into my throat. I have taken two doses of a zithromax but have not seem much improvement at this point. How long can I expect the low grade fever to last and how long does it typically take for the white patches to clear up.
Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
You are having sore throat many times it is viral in begning, but gets infected with bacteria secondarily.
Along with this you have some Eustation tube blockage and post nasal drip.
You should vist a ENT Surgeon and get your self examined and proper antibiotics along with decongestants and anti inflamatory drugs may be required which you will get through prescription.
Please do not take antibiotics by yourself.
Hot saline gargle and chlorhexidine gargle will help.
It may take up to 1 week to clear if no complications, otherwise any sinusitis and LRTI needs to be treated accordingly.
Take care,
Good Luck.
