Low Grade Fever, Runny Nose, Dry Cough And Nausea. Is This Common Cold?

Hello. My husband for almost 3 days now has these symptoms: low grade fever (99-101), runny nose, sneezing, dry cough, fatigue, achy muscles, nausea, and one incident of vomiting 2 hours ago. For two temperature measurements today in the early afternoon, his oral temperature was 97.6 and 98, but all other measurements have been 99-100 today. Is this a common cold?

Hello

Thanks for writing to H.C.M. for your query

I Have gone through your query regarding nasal discharge ,cold , mild fever and bodyache of your husband for last 3 days.

Considering your complaints it appears as your husband is most probably suffering from flu. This is not simply the cold. I would like to suggest you to give these medicines to him-

(a) Antibiotic- preferably broad spectrum.

(2) Tab Paracetamol.

(3) Tab Cetrizine (10 mg) .

I hope this will help your husband, if after this treatment you have any problem than clinical examination become necessary for further treatment.

Regards.

Dear friend, welcome and thanks for entrusting your query here at Healthcaremagic!

All your description fits a viral common cold (URTI-Upper Respiratory Tract Infection).
Please get evaluated by your doctor if you are not feeling better soon.
Take paracetamol 500 mg upto 4 times a day, warm salt water gargles, an OTC cough formula 3 times a day. For vomiting, a chewable ondansetron 4 mg may be taken upto 3 times a day

Keep a watch on unremitting fever, dehydration, breathlessness, expectoration etc.
