Low Grade Pains In Chest, Left Upper Back. Cause?

My husband has been haveing low grade pains in his chest off and on for over 2 months. for the last week he has had most of the pain in the left upper back under the shoulder blade behind the heart . He said it is a dull nagging pain that is just kind of there. No other symptoms that we can determine. yesterday he said that they did a lot of pushing and pulling and lifting at the golf course and now the pain is gone. I am confused, I beleive the pain is not really gone. He says everything is okay, but he has always been healthy and never had pain like this. He is now 57. What do you think

General & Family Physician 's  Response
He should have an ECG and Echo to rule out serious disease. And then chest xray. If all reports are normal then there is nothing to worrry because that may be due to muscular. He can use simple pain killers for 03 to 05 days
