Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Low Pulse Rate, Increased Heart Rate. Had Hip Replaced. On Pace Maker. Is It A Heart Problem?
I have quite a few extra heartbeats; because of low pulse last June--heart stopped for 23 seconds 18 hours after hip replaced, now have a Boston Scientific pacemaker. Today they lowered from 60 to 50 the pacemaker kickin, for lack of a better word, and will be rechecked in 2 weeks. Looking for advice for dealing with this naturally. Am a 75 yo male and had never been in a hoispital, other than birth, until last Jan. when my first hip was replaced. Do think I have had a heart problem for a long, long time, but never showed up in physicals.
Hi welcome to HCM! The heart block is usually a degenerative disease of conductive system of the heart. The incidence is increased by age (as in your case). The best treatment is the pacemaker. Dont worry if the other things in your heart are within normal limits you are like the healthy people your age. Best regards
