hi
although your information is incomplete, but from the provided information , it seems pain is only after doing yoga. so it is possible its just from yoga, which could be causing some type of muscle pull due to extra exertion. so i must advise you to perform your yoga activity under supervision, as improper yoga can do more harm than benefit. also as regards muscle pull and pain, you can take painkiller and muscle relaxant combination which is availaible under various names - flexon-mr , orthodex-mr , aceclo-mr , dolomed-mr.
salt name - paracetamol, aceclofenac and chlorzoxazone.

Wishing you better health
with regards

hello and welcome to HCM,

Dental pain due to exercises like yoga may be caused due to breathing exercises or stretching of cheek muscles provided if there is any underlying and persisting dental infection.

otherwise yoga and dental pain cannot be co related.

i would suggest you to consult a dentist and get the oral examination done for any infections or sinus involvements .

You may need an x ray examination of the affected area if required .

meantime for pain relief you can start with analgesics with muscle relaxants.

i hope this helps ,

take care.

Dear friend.

Thanks for sharing your concern.

Do you have any cavity or tooth decay on that side of jaw?were you feeling this pain earlier too?

you should also mention the nature and duration of pain for exact diagnosis.

Here i would suggest you to take analgesic with muscle relaxant for three days.

If the symptoms are not relived then please visit your dentist for oral examination,it could be an initial caries.

Hope it helps.

Take care.

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to hcm,

As you mentioned, usually yoga cannot cause any kind of jaw pain.
This can be occured due to-
Muscle stretching/twitching during exercises.
Dental infections underlying.

An x-ray of the area will help to evaluate the cause of jaw-ache.
Usually associated causes can be-
Pericoronitis due to impacted wisdom teeth.
Deep dental caries progressed into periapical area.
Periodontal infection.
Traumatic injury due to fracture of jaws.
Please do visit a dentist and get further treatments based on the clinical examination.
Meanwhile,maintain good oral hygiene.
Avoid heavy exercises which can harm your physical health.
Take care.

Hello there,

I would like to know your age . Any associated chest pain? Is your tooth hurting(dental caries/abscess) ? Is your jaw pain more on chewing food. Or is it more when you wash your face or when cold air blows on your face(trigeminal neuralgia). Is the jaw pain more when you turn your neck/jaw (muscular pain). I would advise you to take Ibuprofen 400mg 1-1-1 for 1 day
Ranitidine 150mg1-0-1 for 1 day
If you are not better the next day , please visit your doctor. If the jaw pain is severe or associated with chest pain(heart attack) , please visit the doctor immediately.

Dentist Dr. Amol Gite's  Response
Dental pain can usually be precisely pointed out. If you have such strong correlation between doing yoga and pain, it can b attributed to yoga related muscle stretching. If the pain continues after Yoga or recurs during any other time of the day , then you will have to get it examined by a dentist.

Dentist Dr. Gaurav Pratap Singh's  Response
it is because of heavy clinching pressure of teeth during yoga.take analgesics lke etoricoxib for few days and give teeth some rest and donot exert pressure on teeth during yoga.

Hi,

your complain is incomplete.
you should give the proper history of your pain, its intensity, duration, aggravating and relieving factors, does it is localized or generalized, does it refer to other part, sudden onset or gradual increase, any carious tooth or dold dental history etc.

Depending on this history we can give any diagnosis to you.
As such there is no correlation of yoga and dental pain.
