Lower Lips In Middle Looking Red, Bowel Problems. Is Alcohol Or Marijuana Reason Of This?

my 22 year old son has his lower lips, in the middle loking red. He plays saxophone (from the age of 13) he says this is the reason. I have been convinced that it is because of use of Marijuana, cigarettes and alcohol that his lower lips are red. I took him to 3 doctors, i am surprised that they said that drugs can not do that to him. They say it is pigmentation problem. My son son did not have that until he turned around 17 and he also reveals that he started experiencing marijuana in Junior High School. Please let me know if alcohol and/or Marijuana may be the cause of that. I need to know if his small intestins are involved to the point that he should have a Colonoscopy. I notice also he is always complaining of bowels issues.

The chance of it coming because of marijuana/alcohol/cigarettes is less. It could be because of saxophone. Smoking causes dark pigmentation of both the lips usually.
You have not mentioned exactly what bowel problem he has. Do not worry. I do not think that he will require colonoscopy.
