Lump At The Side Of Thumb. Why Does It Bleed? What Now?
Hi, I get this white lump on the side of my thumb . It almost looks like a hard pus and eventually my skin on it dries out and when it is cut open it isnt painful, it just starts too bleed prefusely. It almost looks as if the hard pus has taken place of my skin. 5 years ago i used to get pus under the skin in my thumb except it would make my whole thumb purple. This has stopped but all of a sudden i have this instead. Should i go to a dermatologist or maybe a GP? Or could you just tell me what it might be? Thanks x
Hello and thanks for the query
As per the symptoms you have explained in your mail, It seems that you a corn on your thumb. It is a hard dead cells that has no pain but it hurts when you press it.
To get rid from it you can use corn cap for 4-5 days but it is not a sure treatment. And other option is the excision of the corn by a trained Surgeon.
Please don't try to cut it by yourself as you have done. It will reoccur again. It should be excised completely to avoid reoccurance.
Hope you have got your answer.
Best Wishes
