Lump In Cheek Growing. Due To Root Canal Infection?
hi i had a root canal done in july. well 2 months later i had the worse tooth ach in the tooth that had the root canal,and it lasted for 2 days. when i woke up and washed my face i noticed i had a small pea sized lump in my sheek and the lump was over the tooth that had the root canal. i have been to a ENT and he said that it was a swollen lymph node and bc i am pregnant he cant do anything about it all he can do is keep an eye on it. well that was 2 wks ago and yesterday the tooth started to hurt when i applied pressure on it and i noticed that the lump in my cheek was bigger. what is going on and is this due to the root canal could the root of the tooth be infected?

I have read your problem, it might be because of chronic infection in your tooth which was already present in your tooth from the beginning it seems. This is known as Periapical abscess,ENT surgeon is not capable to solve your problem,only good ENDODONTIST can solve your problem. you have not mentioned your tooth number and site (rt or lt ).Because in posterior teeth ,there may be 3-4 canals are present in tooth. In proper root canal treatment all canals should be 100% free from infection ,then only lump will go.Now adays latest root canal system WAVE ONE facility is available ,inthat way root canal treatment can be performed in 1hour only with 100%perfection.This procedure can be done without medicins because you are pregnant . First search good ENDODONTIST for this latest treatment ,he will solve your problem 100%.Re root canal treatment is also possible easily. All the best.

Yes, the ump can be due to an infeted root canal leading to pain and discomfort in and around the tooth. I would recommend you to visit your dentist as he may have to take an xray and decide on the diagnosis of the tooth. If the swelling is due to the pus and infection in the root canal, he may redo it for you or give safe medicines as some of them can be given during pregnancy as well.

A bony lump must be treated from the inside out, with antibiotics via the bloodstream that serves the bone. Lancing the lump does no good as the infected bone can't be drained.
•avoid anything that makes the pain worse, such as hot or cold foods or cold air
•holding cooled water or crushed ice around the tooth can sometimes ease the pain
•the pain can often feel worse when you are lying flat, so lying propped up may help ease pain

An ENDODONTIST can solve your problem by reentering into the canal and treating them.
you have not mentioned which tooth are you talking about?.Because in posterior(back) teeth ,there may be 3-4 canals are present in tooth.
In proper root canal treatment all canals should be traced and free from infection ,then only lump will go.

it seem your root canal tooth is highly infected.
I would advice you to gp to your dentist he will redo
the rct and ptrscribe you witj antibiotics and analgesics.dental
treatments are usualy not done in first three months and last
months of pregnancy but you will be releived with antubiotics
and analgesics .
