Lump Under Testicles Due To Ingrown Hair After Shaving, Uncomfortable Feeling, Blood Discharge When Poked. No Puss Or Liquid. Solution?
I shave my groin area often, I have developed what I thought was an ingrown hair under my testicles. Skin has grown into a lump but I can't see a hair when I manipulate that area of skin, as I would try to remove it if found. I have had this for some time and it's very uncomfortable usually after I shave and the hair starts to grow again. If I don't shave it doesn't hurt but still feel it there. I tried poking it but nothing happened but blood came out. There is no puss or liquid of any sort either. What do I do to get rid of it
Frequent shaving can lead to ingrown hair, and infection of the hair follicle. The symptoms that you have mentioned suggest that initially there could have been ingrown hair, later it got infected and finally, chronic inflammation has developed. You should maintain hygiene after shaving in future. Use alcohol based astringent after shaving the area. This will help to prevent infection. For current problem, you need to consult a surgeon. Probably, the hard-firm area is due to cyst formation. In case of cyst, it has to be surgically removed followed by antibiotic cover.
