Lung Cancer, Been Constipated. Ruled Out Stroke. Done MRI. Receiving Chemo. Given Magnesium. What Else Can Be Done?
My sister is being treated for lung cancer stage 4 she is getting chemo 1x a week since May 5th she has lost a lot of weight and is extremely uncomfortable... with constipation we need to know the most effective fast relief treatment -i.e. laxative for her. She needs to gain weight- was 130lbs 5'4"now 103lb She is confused - example she thought it was 2018 The MRI and scan ruled out stroke or cancer in the brain. we had to treat her by taking her into the emergency room there we got an MRI and scan. They released her as soon as she was hydrated with an IV and given Magnesium. Sent her home with no instructions we are on a Cal optima insurance. Is there a treatment center that keeps the patients during treatments and is more supportive.
Hi, the chemotherapy medicines are very power full and cause loss of appetite, and weekness. I advise you to consult her doctor for relief of the side effects. I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe omeprazole, domperidone, and some laxative for relief, and weight gain. Thank you.
