Lung Shadow Is It Cancer?

Hi my friend has just been told that her dad has a shadow on the lung and he has to go for a biopsy. they are worried that this could mean the worst such as cancer. are all shadows on the lungs connected with cancer? she is very worried as you can imagine and shes needing answers asap.

Thanks for query,
Without knowing type of shadow in the lungs it is difficult to give any conclusion.
But in the case of your friends dad it is more likely of having cancer is there as they have asked for biopsy.
In TB, pneumonitis pleural effusion we also find shadow in the lungs.
